Canon Powershot G7 vs Nokia N95 8GB vs Blackberry Curve 8310 vs Apple iPhone 3G

Ecco qua. Ho scattato la foto allo stesso soggetto esattamente dalla stessa posizione e sempre con impostazioni tutte automatiche e a distanza di 10 secondi l'una dall'altra.
La foto sulla sinistra contiene una porzione di cielo ed è interessante notare se il cielo assuma lo stesso colore della Canon G7 che uso come riferimento. La foto a destra invece è il solito incubo per ogni macchina fotografica visto che contiene un sacco di dettagli differenziati solo da gradienti di verde. L'iPhone 3G produce le immagini piú piccole di tutti quanti, ma prima di esprimere un giudizio personale aspetto di vederlo in azione in altri frangenti.

Skype toglie lo scatto alla risposta

Incalzata dai popolari servizi Betamax e dai mugugni di casa ebay, skype si prepara a lanciare la contromossa con tre piani abbonamento che potrebbero effettivamente essere interessanti.
I piani prevedono chiamate illimitate verso le utenze fisse di un paese a scelta, SENZA scatto alla risposta e un numero SkypeIn che ancora non funziona in Italia (grazie al ministero):

Senza limiti Uno (chiami un solo paese europeo con fair usage da 10000 minuti al mese)

Senza limiti Europa (chiami 20 paesi europei)

Senza limiti Mondo (chiami 34 paesi globali)

I costi sono rispettivamente di 3.39, 4.54 e 8.95 €/mese

Come potete vedere i prezzi sono concorrenziali rispetto a betamax in cui si pagano 12€/mese ma il fair usage è da 5 ore alla settimana ovvero 60x5x4=1200 minuti al mese

La qualitá della chiamata skypeOut è in genere superiore a quella Betamax (parlo soprattutto in termini di echo) ma c'è da dire che con gli smartphones nokia ad oggi ancora non esiste un client ufficiale e quindi si è costretti ad usare Fring, mentre per i telefoni con WiFi o HSDPA la Betamax funziona egregiamente

SonyEricsson va a Paris e batte un colpo!

Insomma, se ci si aspettava un segno di vita da parte di SE sembra che finalmente qualcosa stia per smuoversi.
Innanzitutto una foto che la dice lunga sulla bellezza di questo apparecchio:

Vi presento il Paris (che è il nome in codice del progetto, niente di piú!).


L'annuncio ufficiale è previsto in Maggio ma qualcosa è giá trapelato.
Questo gioiellino presenta il Symbian UIQ 3.3 preinstallato, quindi si parla di Opera 8.5 e la nuova grafica cui accennavo in questo post. Ovviamente c'è un largo schermo touch screen e non poteva mancare la tastiera slide (ma ancora non so da che lato esca, se sotto come nel ninja o lateralmente). La tastiera dovrebbe essere in stile P1 (quindi coi tasti accoppiati e bilancere) quindi è presumibile che sia tipo ninja.

I materiali sono apparentemente di prim'ordine. Il lato frontale è lucido mentre per il lato posteriore sembra sia stato utilizzato metallo (in stile iPod!). Non lasciatevi suggestionare dalle immagini perché il Paris è veramente sottile (dovrebbe essere spesso quanto o meno del P1).

Sul retro del telefono è presente uno slide che copre la camera a 5MPixel (probabilmente ereditata dall'ottimo K850)
Integra inevitabilmente un GPS:

Dovrebbe uscire con GoogleMaps preinstallato (che è stato rilasciato ufficialmente per UIQ il mese scorso).

È UMTS (ancora non so se 3 o 3.5G) e integra ovviamente Bluetooth 2.0 e (finalmente) WiFi B/G.

Il mistero rimane su CPU, HSDPA e qualitá video ma entro un paio di settimane dovrebbero uscire altre informazioni su questo apparecchio.
Inutile dire che lo terró d'occhio

long time no see

Yes, I know. It has been too long since my last update.
I have a whole list of excuses for that but the simple truth is that I've been really busy with some projects of mine and I'd like to speak a bit about them.
First of all I've spent a great deal of time developing a new mobile portal capable of working on Firefox, Opera, iPhone, nokia n958gb... basically wherever Microsoft is not involved.

It's ads completely free, quick to use, practical, italian speakers oriented and naturally is special. It contains a small portion of the best of internet as I see it and I'd say my sight is well trained.

The second project is... I'm a switcher! You heard it right: I moved to Mac as I'm now a proud owner of a shiny new MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo Penryn. I've been using Windows for quite some time (more then a decade) and it's really fantastic to move back to Macintosh after so many years. I've spent the last weeks testing new software and getting in good terms with Leopard, a SO that I simply adore.

The third project is... I'm studying Swedish! Yeah, of course I already knew Swedish, but now I'm going to school every morning to an intensive course and you have no idea how confusing it is to write english now...

The fourth project is... I'm looking for work as mechanical engineering in Sweden. It's not easy, not easy at all for no natives to find job, but I thought it wouldn't be that hard for english speakers. Well.... it's quite complicated but still possible. One need just to know where to knock... and I think lately I finally knocked on the right door.

This was show last week during a short trip to visit my parents in Liguria, Italy. I got lucky this year because I've had the chance to see this amazing flower springing to life.
There is a very short time window to see mimosa open as it usually flowers for St. Valentine's
Italians like to present their lovers with this flower the 14th of February which explains why this flower disappears completely by the 15th ;)
